Rockit – Zed Review – ad

When the people from Rockit asking us if we wanted to review the new Zed Sleep Soother I knew it would be perfect for when our little girl Lucie was here. Being a NICU baby she is used to noise and lights pretty much all the time so the vibrations and light we hoped would ease her transition when she came home.

When the people from Rockit asked us if we wanted to review the new Zed Sleep Soother I knew it would be perfect for when our little girl Lucie was here. Being a NICU baby she is used to noise and lights pretty much all the time so the vibrations and light we hoped would ease her transition when she came home.

Zed is designed to mimic the motion of being in a car by recreating low frequency vibrations known to send babies to sleep and soothe them. The idea is that you can place Zed on your baby’s mattress by their feet, and the finely turned vibrations will ripple gently through the mattress comforting baby and encouraging a deep sleep.

We love that it has 6 different vibrations so it can be changed depending on what is needed at the time. The first 3 are static vibration speeds and then there are 3 additional vibrations which are designed to give the idea of a car accelerating and decelerating. Ezra really likes the vibrations that feel like a car whereas Lucie likes the gentler vibrations.

According to science it is said that babies tend to sleep in 45-minute cycles which is why the company behind Zed has designed the vibrations to fade out after 1 hour, but the red light has a 12 hour cycle as red lights are known to help children and babies relax as it creates melatonin. My brothers had a red light night light as it helped them sleep and that was 40 years ago!

We have found this really useful since Lucie has been born and we use it at every nap time and during the night time we really benefit from the red light as it means we don’t need to put on the big light during a nap change / feed.

You can get hold of it via many stockists or via Rockit themselves.

PLEASE NOTE: takes 2 x AA batteries (not included)
