We have been gifted a family ticket for The Snowman Showing at Ely Cathedral in December and we cannot wait. It is one of my favourite films from my childhood and at primary school we watched it every year before breaking up for the Christmas break. It is full of heartwarming moments and you can’t take your eyes away from it in case you miss a bit. It always gets me shedding a tear despite always trying not too.
We can’t wait to immerse ourselves in the film all whilst having it accompanied by a live orchestra. It is really going to bring the film to life and I can’t wait for Ethan to experience it. It is just one way of carrying on the Christmas feeling and there are still tickets available here.
It has been seen by over 150,000 people to date, with many performances at many of the country’s finest Cathedrals. We feel honoured to be able to see it at such a beautiful cathedral in the heart of Ely and it is a perfect way to wind down after all the Christmas festivities.
The orchestra is classed as world class and comprises of musicians drawn from the UK’s top orchestras. I have never seen an orchestra apart from when at West End shows so this will be an experience for me as well as Ethan.
The concert is due to open with a toe-tapping Christmas Medley followed by a fun guide to the orchestra. This offers the audience especially younger ones the valuable experience of seeing – and hearing – the instruments individually. It is truly an experience that Ethan won’t forget easily and I can’t wait for to see his face light up with the film just like mine did when I was a kid.
